The White Tabija is a fortress on the Dariva - Moscanica road , on the eastern elevation of the Sarajevo Basin. It was erected on the site of a medieval fortress, built around 1550 . years. The upper part of Tabia in large stone blocks dates from the Austro-Hungarian period. The fort was of great importance for the defense of the city during the attack of the Austrian prince Eugene of Savoy in the 17th century, and of the Austro-Hungarian army in 1878 . years.

Bijela Tabija is a protruding part of the wall of what was historically known as the old Vratnik City, and dominates the Eastern, the natural entrance to Sarajevo. It is built of stone and it used to house a gun-crew and an ammunition storage.
