A must visit. Altos de Chavón is a re-creation of a Mediterranean style European village located atop the Chavón River in La Romana, Dominican Republic. It is the most popular attraction in the city and hosts a cultural center, an archeological museum, and an amphitheater.

What can I say. This is one of the most reputable spots in the world. It has a stunning view of a LARGE River and beautiful architecture. The villas have type of wooden/ antique look to them and the streets are colonial type with stones and such.
