This is a great place to hike and explore. Be safe as there are wildlife that can be in the area. Be prepared with the right clothing, and water for your trip

There are several areas of the recreation area you can visit, the closest is taking the Iowa Hill rd out of Colfax Down to the North Fork of the American river. You can pan for gold and hike up and down the river. Be sure to at least take a ride and see this beautiful place
