(Cockermouth). Recommended local pub for classic British grub and a good pint, casual and warm atmosphere with a good selection of beers.

Good food and a warm welcome, just a stone's throw from Wren Cottage. The name comes from the pub's location at the very end of Bitter Beck, which runs into the River Cocker here.

One needs a big appetite when eating in this pub. The meals are very generous and are very tasty, one does not want to leave a scrap but it is almost impossible not too. Their own brewed beer, Bitter End Ale is very tasty too, nice and smooth. A very friendly warm welcoming pub. They also have their own mini brewery on site, worth a look.
