Built 1779, it's the first arch bridge in the world to be made of cast iron. So early that Abraham Darby the Quaker iron-founder used carpentry joints. Made in Coalbrookdale foundry. A must see site.
The world's first Iron Bridge spans the River Severn at the foot of the town which takes it's name.
