Bill T. Jones, a renowned dancer and choreographer, heads up this Chelsea space that’s an incubator of dance and choreographic talent. All kinds of dancers come through these doors—ballerinas, hula dancers, and heel and step dancers all hang out in the lobby. There are usually performances several times a week. As you watch, take a moment to appreciate the immense stage, which features a specially constructed sprung dance floor to lessen the impact on dancers’ joints.
