Round the corner from the Voodoo Rooms and Cafe Royal, so again, looks a bit like you're going up a dodgy alley, but you're not. Great food, atmosphere and drinks. One of the most iconic Edinburgh pubs. Old enough that my dad drank here when he was young. And probably his dad too.

Great old style british pub. Spectacular interior, with ornate ceiling and wooden fittings, over 100 years old. Also serves a great selection of Scottish and world cask ales that changes every day. Usually a good Jazz venue for the Fringe.
