Nice place to go for a picknic , hiking or just to relax, The Scenic route is sometimes closed thru May and is about 84 miles, but worth the drive

Silverwood Lake is located off Highway 138, 11 miles east of the I-15 or 24 miles northeast of San Bernardino from highways 18 and 138. It is surrounded by 2,400 acres of ancient Douglas Firs, Black Oak trees and spectacular views of the mountain creeks.

About 35-40 min away. They have everything you could possibly want for enjoying the outdoors. They have swimming areas with life guards in the summer, boat launch area, fishing, camping, hiking and picnic areas. There's a $10 fee per car for day use.
