The chef/owner of this newish close-by Japanese/Sushi restaurant was the renowned Sushi chef of an iconic Sushi restaurant with months long waits. Interesting menu and dining indoors or on a patio.

Some of the sushi chefs at Himitsu were once apprentices of those at Sushi Ota according to what we've heard. They've done a spectacular job at mastering their profession as well. Himitsu is a great contender for our good sushi in San Diego. Reservations recommended.

This intimate sushi bar and patio is the domain of chef Mitsu Aihara, a Sushi Ota alum who offers an omakase experience as well as sushi rolls and la carte dishes.
