The canal is part of the Parisian canal network, along with the Canal Saint-Denis, the bassin de la Villette, and the Canal Saint-Martin.

You should take the subway from pigalle and go out at Stalingrad. Here you walk from the great coupole, along the Ourcq canal. There is paris plages, lots a kid friendly places, lots of bars. I recommend : pavillon des canaux for a chill tea, eat amazing corean food at KOKO, le bar ourcq to play pétanque and have a drink, and you should definitely rent a boat “les marins d’eau douce” online for two hours to have a lovely ride. I really love this place.
