Springvale Eco-Heritage Museum is a treasure tucked away in the Barbados countryside in the northern Scotland District. Entering the museum at Springvale is like taking a step back in time. You will be immersed in a world of yesteryear surrounded by antique furniture and old-time cooking and household utensils. You can just imagine the washerwomen up to their elbows in soapy water using the local 'juking board' while the iron sits over the coals getting warmed up! Contrast that with the luxury of a mahogany-laden living area complete with comfortable planters chairs. In fact, the number of pieces of mahogany in a house was a sign of the wealth of the homeowner!
