The Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Drive is about a 14 mile drive along Route 89A between Sedona and Flagstaff, Arizona. Get your camera ready for this one, and don't forget your swim suit, hiking shoes, and fishing pole. This breathtaking series of switchbacks into a scenic, smaller cousin of the Grand Canyon.

Oak Creek Canyon Natural Area (31.4) is a gorge carved into the edge of the Mogollon Rim of the Colorado Plateau along the Oak Creek Fault. Tectonic forces shifting the land to either side of the fault and subsequent erosion by Oak Creek have created a spectacular canyon where the geologic history of this area is an open book.
