Our Hideaway sits on the outskirts of the El Dorado National Forest. On the drive up you may see cars parked along the side of the road. This is the trail that will lead you into the forest for swimming holes and hiking.

El Dorado National Forest is situation adjacent to Bear Creek Lodge. With 5 minutes drive is Emerald Creek to wade in and many designated hiking trails for those who wish to go hiking on foot. BCL has the latest map of El Dorado National Forest that you may refer to & borrow while exploring this beautiful location.

Beautiful especially in spring & fall. Good hiking, Great family outing. If you want to see birds, other wild life, try an early drive!

We love the Forest! If you have a four-wheel drive, stop by the ranger station in Camino, get a map of the forest roads, and start exploring!
