A hidden jewel on North Head, magical Store Beach can only be reached by kayak or boat. It’s a fairy-penguin breeding ground, so access is prohibited from dusk, when the birds waddle in.

The best way – or perhaps the only way – to get to this gem of a beach is via water. Hire a kayak from Manly Wharf and paddle towards North Head. You’ll find the beach close to the old Quarantine Station.

Accessed only by boat, paddle board or kayak, very romantic. Take a picnic and a bottle of wine and just chill out.
