Take in the sunset and gaze at the stars from the highest mountain in the world (from base to top). Bring warm clothes!

The best view on the whole island 🌺 Also the best star gazing in Hawai'i. What a gorgeous place to be! Just be aware of elevation sickness. Make sure you bring some cold water to sip!

Sunsets & Star Gazing! It’s cold up there! It takes a while to get to the top. Bring food & drinks & warm clothes Stop at the observatory for 20 to 40 minutes for your body to acclimate to the altitude. 4x4 vehicle needed to go all the way to the top.

This place is so dope! Another one of my favorites. The stargazing up here is like no other. If you have a 4wd, you'll be fine. If not, you can still go as far as the visitors center, which is at 9,000 ft elevation. The stars are still amazing from there, too. They also have many tours available, but honestly, rather than doing that, I'd just rent a 4wd for the day, and you can have more freedom. it'd be about the same price or maybe less!

Towering, dormant volcano with a small lake & a 6-mile trail to the summit & its observatories.
