banging little portuguese place just off the ascensor da bica. No frills, meat, fish and green wine. €

If you like good meat try the onglet a l'échalot. I often almost cry missing it (Mind the acoustic...) €

This is the classic Portuguese restaurant where you go to have a regular PT meal. Not fancy, not amazing, just (more than) reasonably good and quite affordable. They have nice fresh fish. Around 9 euros per portion. If you go at dinner time, be aware that you'll have to wait a bit if you go after 8pm, because the place is famous among PT people. The place is also louder and the service not so good at night time.

Toma La Da Ca – low-key, canteen-style restaurant. Hardly known to tourists or mentioned in the tourist guides. Mainly grilled food served, but also great traditional Portuguese foods.
