Lara’s place is great if you’re looking to stay near Canberra but not around the buzz of the city. It’s spacious with 3 rooms and 2 bathrooms. Along with comfortable common areas. Would definitely book again for a larger group.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the heritage house and it exceeded all my expectations. The space was stylishly decorated, and equipped with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay with toddlers. The host was incredibly welcoming and responsive, providing clear instructions and helpful local recommendations. The location was perfect—situated in a quiet neighborhood yet close to local attractions. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and hassle-free stay.

We (12 family members) came to Wattagan Homestead to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The three “wings” and spacious common areas were just perfect for us. It allowed us to be together but also have our own space too! In addition to this the lush green lawn, beautiful gardens, outdoor seating area(s) and ability to roam the property was just amazing. Meg was a wonderful host, so easy to contact and she made everything so easy for us all. We had absolutely everything we needed. Highly recommended!

A cosy home in a convenient location. Bedding is comfy! Host is friendly and responsive. I’d recommend visitors in groups of 2 families to stay.

Was a great house for our family gathering. Fantastic kitchen to cook in and a nice big dining table and comfy lounge area. The location is great for getting to the galleries, aboretum and other sights really quickly. Great spot for getting onto cycling trails too. Rode to the Botanical Gardens in 30 minutes. Highly recommend this place for a family holiday in Canberra.

The moment I stepped into Hold Cottage, I was reminded of an autumn leaf gently falling or perhaps a graceful elderly lady in her twilight years. Both Hold Cottage and the quiet town of Gunning embody this essence—not the unknown brilliance of spring and summer, but the elegance and contentment that follows after the peak of bloom. Here, everything seems to whisper of time passing gently, offering a refuge of tranquility to those seeking peace from the bustle of everyday life. The town itself, with its rustic charm, feels like something beautifully aged. Broken in a stylish way, as if every piece has been subtly reassembled into a unique form of beauty. A word of advice for future guests: if you need fast Wi-Fi for work or streaming, this might not be the ideal spot, as the town's internet is rather slow. However, if you're looking to escape the digital grind, relax by the fire with a book, Hold Cottage and Gunning offer the perfect retreat for a peaceful, reflective getaway.

The Host Tracy is an exceptional host who is highly responsive and attentive. Communication was seamless, and all guidelines were clear and easy to follow. Check-in Check-in was super easy and convenient. Tracy allowed us to check in early, which is very kind. The Apartment The apartment is bright and clean, with a cozy ambiance. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The Location Conveniently located in Braddon, close to many restaurants and shops, and within walking distance to Canberra Centre.

Great space. The directions to check in, get the key and park were all very accurate. However you really need to follow the instructions word for word. Especially in the carpark which has non-sequential numbering of the car spots. You should stay there but there are guidance labels on everything and instructions. If you don't mind that you will enjoy it. Great spot. We will be back.
