Our family loved this house and location - plenty of room, easy walk to the beach, tennis courts out back, friendly neighbors, easy access to restaurants and stores. Jim was responded quickly when we asked for help with supplies. The spring pollen factor was high - so be ready! We washed the decks and chairs and that improved things. We will return!

The space was exactly as described and Diane was super responsive and helpful. The kids loved the hot tub, there were tons of unexpected amenities (waffle maker! Cupcake liners!) which made for more breakfast and snack options. Be sure to plan for renting a car - while there is a nice restaurant next door, you’ll need it to get around. I would recommend planning a stop to the carnivorous plant garden while you’re in town!

Had a perfect weekend. Home is beautiful, comfortable, AMAZING sunrises, relaxing hottub, just a few steps to the ocean, very private. So nice not having to drag coolers etc to the beach. Just carry a chair and a beverage for a lovely day. Walk a few steps back to house if you need anything.

Bryan's place definitely felt like a little home away from home on the beach. It's a quaint cottage, packed with essentials and was just the right size for us two. I was very thankful for its size and no stairs when I unfortunately sprained my ankle on day 2 of our vacation and had to hobble around in crutches the rest of the time! Even though you're right off the main road, there was no noise and was pretty quiet and peaceful. Beach access is right down the road and very easily walkable, or hobbable. The hot tub was a great plus to relax in after a long night. Bryan was very communicative and prompt with questions we had prior to booking. Check-in was very easy and check-out instructions were very reasonable and clear. Overall a great stay that we would definitely book again!

This place was perfect and so cute! We had everything we needed and the kids loved the hot tub! Kristy was very responsive and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at this house! It was in the perfect location — just a short walk to the beach, which made everything so easy. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. We used the hot tub every day and it was such a relaxing way to wind down. The beds were really comfortable and everyone slept great. We spent our evenings watching movies together and cooking meals — the kitchen had plenty of dishes and tools to make that easy. We had to find this place last minute, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. The host was so nice and responsive to any needs we had. It really made the experience stress-free. Would definitely stay here again!

The Whimsy Whale is a charming cottage, beautifully appointed, pristine and in a lovely peaceful neighborhood. It truly is steps from an easy beachfront access point. The large fenced backyard provides privacy as well as a lovely area for relaxation for we for humans and our two whippets. I can honestly say this has been the best AirBnB experience I have had! I definitely plan to return!

We had a great weekend. This is a wonderful home and dog-friendly. Our dog was at home and the location was perfect for us. Robert was extremely helpful and great to get to know. The next time we find ourselves heading to Oak Island, we will stay here. Thanks for everything! Ken

We had a wonderful stay over Spring Break. Just a short walk to the beautiful beach, which was never crowded. My husband and son fished off of the floating dock and caught a spot fish, several blue fish, and a flounder. We also were able to catch some crabs in the crab trap. We left the trap there for future visitors to enjoy. The weather was perfect. There are restaurants, ice cream, and a small market 2-3 minutes from the house or you can drive a little further to Surf City for more choices. Cheryl was responsive and proactive. We will definitely be back!

We loved our week at Blue Turtle Cottage! It’s bright, clean and charming. Just a short walk to the beach. Leslie and Kay were lovely hosts. We’d definitely come back if our plans bring us to OKI. The king bed is super comfy!. Thanks for hosting us! 💙🐢

Lisa’s place was perfect for our weekend getaway with our lab, Henry. The neighborhood is very quaint and a PERFECT place to walk. We were excited to be able to walk to the beach and the local restaurants. The location is perfect. The bed, pillows and linens were very comfortable. The charming and cozy cottage was the perfect spot for our cousin’s weekend at the beach. All the restaurants and beach were just a couple of blocks away. Charles was super quick to respond to any questions and the check-in was seamless. Be sure to check out Nikki’s Sushi- super delicious. Also, Coharie Coastal Boutique is a wonderful shop. Highly recommend the cottage and area.

This cottage was secluded yet walking distance from many delicious food options and unique local shops. Gretchen was an excellent host and supplied many amenities. Everything was clean and homey. I would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house has a 'beachy' feel to it and we felt relaxed and in beach mode the second we walked in. The path to the beach was right across the street from the house and the beach location is hard to beat....simply magnificent. Everything we needed from Publix to restaurants was just minutes away. I stayed for a long weekend with my mother and six year old daughter and we all loved it. It was extremely clean and comfortable. We really appreciated how communicative the hosts were, going out of their way to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. We will definitely return!

We enjoyed staying here for the week of Thanksgiving with our family and dogs. We were close to family and conveniently located to restaurants and grocery stores. Letting the dogs out back to the fenced yard was a breeze. Thanks for a great stay!

My wife, our three kids, and I cherished every single moment.The house was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with plenty of room for our family to relax. The decor was lovely, and the amenities were exactly what we needed for a comfortable and stress-free vacation. The kids loved the proximity to the beach, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the house that made it feel like home. The Yellow Cottage was our top choice for this area based on affordability, privacy, and most importantly- it was perfect for our puppies. The home was very welcoming. Within minutes of unloading our car, my wife and I felt that we could immediately sit down and relax from our long drive while our dogs stretched their legs in the backyard. That kind of feeling is hard to describe fully in words and hard to come by on top of that. The host, Joseph, promptly responded and addressed a couple issues we had during our stay. He went beyond the call of duty with his assistance which was much appreciated. We’re definitely staying here again in the future!

My husband booked this lovely little cottage for the two of us for a quick little getaway. It is conveniently close enough to everything you need (10 minutes away from anything and everything) yet secluded enough to feel like you're away from all distractions. The perfect little home away from home. Ian and Kristi put so much though and effort into this place. Wonderfully clean, perfectly decorated and stocked with all the essentials and more. So much attention to detail, even the blankets in a basket for those who get chilly at night while others need the air on frigid. :) We enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings and the little shaded back patio during the day. Such a beautiful Airbnb for the much needed R&R! We would highly recommend the New Coastal Cottage if you're looking for a stay close to the coast. Incredible hosts with great communication before, during, and after our stay. 10 out of 10! We look forward to staying again sometime in the future Don't let this one pass you by!
