Squirrels Leap

The property is a stone built detached dwelling next to a stream and set in 9 acres of agricultural land, grazed by rare breed Herdwick sheep. We have a comfy king-size bed in the lower bedroom, and two singles or a double on the mezzanine level above as you prefer, and a wood burning stove to keep you cosy. There are fantastic walks, loads of fascinting local history, independent shops and places to eat and drink. We have a safe space for cyclists to store bikes, too!

Stag Cottage (built C1580) is a beautiful, quaint, historic Grade II Listed building hidden away in the ancient, hilltop Pennine village of Heptonstall. Stag Cottage oozes charm and retains many original features, including stone mullioned windows, arched lintels, wooden beams and a king post truss with wattle and daub infill. A low 4ft 6'' beam separates the kitchen from the living area. The Cottage sleeps 3 people comfortably; a double bedroom with king-size bed and also a single bedroom.
