Arts & Culture
Gracia is a very nice neighbourhood with lots of little shops, bars, tapas restaurants, a market, lots of live music for free and all kinds of vegetarians shops, galeries. The public is young, artistic and well just see for yourself, you won't be bored. And only a 15 minutes walk from my place (2 km´s). I am sure you will love this former village which is part of Barcelona city.

Gracia is a very nice neighbourhood with lots of little shops, bars, tapas restaurants, a market, lots of live music for free and all kinds of vegetarians shops, galeries. The public is young, artistic and well just see for yourself, you won't be bored. And only a 15 minutes walk from my place (2 km´s). I am sure you will love this former village which is part of Barcelona city.
This house designed by Gaudi a must see place and only 4 stops with the ¨green L3 metro which stops close to my house.

This lovely square is beautiful because of it´s location in the heart of the Gothico area. Every Saturday and Sunday you will find an art market where artists themselves present and sell their work. Lovely area to wander through. I am sure you will enjoy you walk through this old neighbourhood.
Of course you can also visit the mighty church of Santa Maria del Pi, entrance 10 euro´s.

Plaça del ReiThis lovely square is beautiful because of it´s location in the heart of the Gothico area. Every Saturday and Sunday you will find an art market where artists themselves present and sell their work. Lovely area to wander through. I am sure you will enjoy you walk through this old neighbourhood.
Of course you can also visit the mighty church of Santa Maria del Pi, entrance 10 euro´s.
Food Scene
Restaurant/bar/disco Mirablau is located on the first level on the Tibidabo mountain, 20 minutes walk. Here you have the most lovely view on the city and the sea with home made delicious tapas and very good wine. You will not find so many tourist here but Catalan who love to enjoy a good lunch, brunch or drinks. The place is divided in 2 floors and the outside terrace is very nice to enjoy your coffee or wine. By taxi is only 5 minutes and taxi´s are cheap in Barcelona. I am sure you wil like this place.

Do you like sushi on a high level, then I can advise you to have dinner at this restaurant at the border of Gracia near Av. Diagonal. You can take the metro L3 and exit at metrostation Diagonal or take the bus V17 who stops just at the end of my street on the viaduct Vallcarca. Busstop Pau de Claris-Diagonal.

During weekends they have special events with live music or a DJ and in the night they have an agenda full of live music. I really recommend this place to have a good dinner while enjoying some good jazzy funky sounds. Leave the metro at Drassanes and take a walk all through the area Gotico or take the bus V17 and leave at the end of Via Laietana and walk in approx 7 minutes to Placa Commercial in the heart of El Born, one of the oldest areas of the city.

Through friends I discovered this very good tapas bar where you can enjoy fresh home made tapas for a very good price. It´s a family restaurant which already exists more than 40 years. I really recommend this Catalan restaurant.

Don´t forget to visit the beautiful cathedral build in the 30´s. For only 2,50 euros you can enter the top of cathedral (take a coat or shawl with you, it´s windy) and enjoy the view at the highest top of Barcelona.

Take the metro L3 and change at Diagonal metro station to metro L5 direction Vall d´Hebron and exit the second stop. This famous cathedral of Gaudi is a place every tourist wants to see, just decide if you want to stand in line to enter the cathedral.
