Easy walk from Bernal Brick & Mortar. Incredible 360 degree view of the city and beyond. Popular place for locals to walk on scenic trails, walk dogs, and view fireworks and airshows when happening from this high SF point. There's also a boulder on the south side of the hill that gets decorated and painted frequently that demonstrates one of the many charms of the Bernal Heights neighborhood. Keep your eye out for it.

This is one of my favorite places. A popular place for dog walking. There are endless trails and beach access. A popular spot for hang gliders . You can hike down to the beach and access enormous beautiful stretches of beach or stay up top and explore the paved meandering paths.

Too much to list here. Golden Gate Park has so much to offer. A San Francisco must see and do. The De Young Museum, Conservatory of Flowers, Stow Lake (rent a boat), Academy of Sciences, Japanese Tea Garden, the Bison, Lakes, Polo Fields, and the Botanical Gardens! Stretching from the Pan Handle/ Haight to the Ocean Beach Golden Gate Park has a lot. Try the Park Chalet for a casual lunch after a day of exploring.

Encompassing nearly 16 acres, Mission Dolores Park is one of San Francisco’s most popular parks, the vibrant heart of its equally vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood. Here you’ll find lush green lawns shaded by tall palm trees, a soccer field, six tennis courts, one basketball court, a multi-use court, a playground, and two off-leash dog play areas. Yes. Many festivals, performances, and other cultural events are held here, and on sunny afternoons people flock to the park to play, picnic, lounge, walk their dogs, and enjoy spectacular views of the city’s skyline and beyond. Named for nearby Mission Dolores, the park is situated on land that was once a Jewish cemetery. The City bought the property in 1905 and established the park. In 1906 it served as a refugee camp for more than 1,600 residents made homeless by the earthquake and fire. Mission Dolores Park is bounded by Church, Dolores, 18th, and 20th streets. The Muni Metro J-Church Line runs along its western edge.

Award Winning Ice Cream Since 1953. Lots of trendy ice cream stores have popped up around the city, but some think Mitchell's is still the best. Take a number, get in line and go back in time. Waiting outside in the crowd for your number to be called is part of the fun. Samples are plentiful and free. They are famous for a few flavors. Try the Ube. And the chocolate dip - the best.

Bernal Heights' very own farmer's market on Saturday morning. This is a casual not fancy market with great prices on organic produce. There's also food trucks, flowers, olive oil, honey, baked goods, and various other sundries. I recommend going early. You can walk or drive and park near by.
