Right around the corner from our place. Not your average gastro-pub because the menu is composed of more game-style meat (venison, rabbit, duck, elk, etc.). Frontier is a standard option for us; the food is always good and they know how to execute a well made cocktail. Timber beams, outdoor patio with fireplaces, etc. complete the mountainous theme. It's a cool spot!

Walkable for a sit down brunch. Has a Latin flare to their phenomenal brunch menu. Great morning drinks that will get you going and never-disappoints breakfast meals. We love FLO!

The dishes are innovative - try the oysters! Definitely for a special occasion ($) but in terms of "hidden gems" - this is it. And it's BYOB!

Only a few steps away at the corner of Ashland and Augusta. This place has AWESOME Mexican food. Seriously, try it, take our word for it :)

On a weekday though, really a cool place to explore if you have never been to Chicago. Stop by the Lincoln Park Zoo on your way out, too!
