Enfin un véritable restaurant chinois ! La taverne de Zhao propose des spécialité de Xian faites maison. Le service est un peu bourru mais cela est très vite compensé par la qualité des plats

A great restaurant, perhaps our preferred one but unfortunately often closed. The owner is passionated about gastronomy and can discuss with you during hours about the meals that you will taste.

A great restaurant for meat and wine afficiaonados (but personnaly, I find the proposed meats better than the proposed wines)
The owner is absolutely passionated by her products. She only proposes first class and labelled meats (i.e. Black Angus) that she finds in different butchery all over Paris to only get the bests. Clearly to not miss !
If you go there think to ask for "Os à moelle" and for the french fries cooked in trufflel oil and parmesan...

The owner is absolutely passionated by her products. She only proposes first class and labelled meats (i.e. Black Angus) that she finds in different butchery all over Paris to only get the bests. Clearly to not miss !

Getting Around
Magenta or "Gare du Nord" (it is the same station) is the largest european train station. As such it is deserved by 2 standard subway lines (2, 4 and 5) and 3 express subway lines (RER A, B and E). It is also there that you will find most of the 15 bus lines.
Just an advice, during summer time, prefer the bus. As most of the parisians are in holidays, the streets are empty and will be more tempered and far nicer than subterrean transports

- a very good cheesemonger, 215, rue du Faubourg Saint Martin (and could not stay here without tasting French cheeses)
- a wineshop, 195 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin where if you have time (a lot of time...) you should not hesitate to discuss with the owner about the different wines
- and the best bakery of the area, 219 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin

If you go to the Eiffel Tower you should avoid the elevators (where will have to wait at least one hour) and take the stairs. It is far easier that it seems until the second floor (the third being quite high).
