Based on the traditional Irani cafes of Bombay, Dishoom is not only one of the best Indian restaurants in the UK, it is one of the best restaurants in the UK full stop. Don't believe me? It was voted 'Best Restaurant in the UK' by Yelp users in 2015 & 2016. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and they're all great. It's also really reasonably priced, particularly for a restaurant of its quality. N.B. Although they take reservations for breakfast and lunch from groups of any size, for dinner they only accept reservations for groups of 6 or more, meaning the tables are allocated on a first come first serve basis and you may have to wait, but they have a small cocktail bar you can wait at.

If you come from South Kensington Station, there is usually a Museum security guard on the corner after the traffic lights. There are two entrances, ask the guard what the quickest is to avoid a wait that is too long. Besides their standard collection (cool dinosaur exhibition!), there is usually a temporary exhibition on display: can be anything from real life butterflies to space photography! Extra fee, but well worth it if it's something that spikes your interest.
