Food Scene

A Denver staple! Vine Street is a brewery with great food, not just pub food by any means. Its walking distance from the house, not SUPER close but doable, about a mile. They make great beers and have great murals inside. I've always had great service here. *Tip: its cash only but they have an ATM that is only 1 dollar.

Well if bottomless brunch mimosas and oysters on the half shell aren't enough of a selling point... this restaurant gem brings fresh, inspired, and approachable food together with a great ambiance of an upscale 'laidbackness'. Other perks? Free valet at dinner time and easy two hour parking, something you won't find very often with Denver's best dining locations. Got to try? Hit up happy hour (3-6 pm weekdays) for some $5 crispy broccoli and peppercini aioli.

Drinks & Nightlife

Amazing (alcoholic) ciders. Similar feel to a brewery... but cider instead of beer. Some great music groups come through, and they often do pairing with local restaurants including chocolate, cheese, cupcakes, bacon etc.

This classic Denver establishment is not to miss if you're looking for bars near the house. It's a tiny bar with eclectic decor. It's known for the infused vodkas made in house. Best for smaller groups as you'll find it difficult to seat a large group together.

Weirdest, albeit coolest, bar in Denver. Hipster to the highest degree. The owner once told me the bar's purpose is to celebrate the beauty of nature in the city. I can get behind that! There are campfires year round, a stream running through, a rope swing upstairs, taxidermy everywhere and a laid back vibe. Very odd art, will make you feel like youre back at summer camp!

Sightseeing

Boulder is an amazing city, I lived there for 5 years and was really sad to leave. Great hikes, coffee shops, parks and the University of Colorado campus is worth looking around. Check out Pearl Street Walking Mall! Boulder is about 35 minutes away.

Parks & Nature

City Park is two short blocks from the house. It's beautiful and the largest park in the city. City Park also is home of The City Park Golf Course, the Denver Nature and Science Museum and the Denver Zoo! You can rent peddle boats there too. Sundays in the summer, later afternoon and into the evening, is Jazz at the Park. This is always very popular.

Not only one of Colorado's most magical wonders, but also unarguably one of America's most sought after music venues. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a geological phenomenon, the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheatre in the world. Only 10 miles west of Denver, its an easy an incredible escape from the city and lends to not only nighttime summer concerts but also Saturday morning Yoga on the rocks, evening 'film' on the rocks, and a plethora of beautiful free hiking trails that are above and beyond 'instagramable'. Truly a can't miss Colorado hit list location.

Essentials

You're probably familiar with Sprouts Farmer's Market, but if you're not then you're in for a lovely grocery shopping experience that is both healthy and affordable and in a setting that feels like an old-fashioned farmers market. You'll find mountains of colorful, fresh fruits and vegetables, barrels of wholesome grains, nuts and sweets, and full-service deli, meat and seafood counters. Perks: 1. No self check out (a total relief if you're used to shopping at King Soopers or Safeway) 2. Double add Wednesdays (Yes, that is a well known thing in the Sprouts world where you reap the sales of both the past week and the new week) 3. Coolest clearance shelf ever (So many goods for so little price
