They have a great walking trail, they have tons of things you can do on the water, and its location is great because there's so much to do and see in downtown Austin. There are shops on both sides of the lake, yummy places to eat. It would be easy to make a whole day of it!

There are shops on both sides of the lake, yummy places to eat. It would be easy to make a whole day of it!
This place is great for kids. There's a huge climbing structure that the kids climb around in, zip line, swing and slide. There's a huge sitting are in the middle with comfortable chairs for you to sit in while you watch the kids, read, or work(not that you want to work on vacation, but hey, sometimes it can't be avoided). They also sell food and they have a little section for games.

We like going to this place because the seats are comfy and they have good draft beer and the food is pretty decent as well.

Depending on what time of year you come there is always something to enjoy at Zilker! They always have professional theater productions in the park all through the summer. Last year it was Shrek, the year before it was Hairspray, and this year it's The Wizard of Oz! And the best part is it's free! We love going every year. If you can make it happen you seriously need to check this out!! We LOVE going every year!
If you are here anywhere close to Christmas they have a spectacular light display that is really beautiful to see.
