If you need a break from the boutique store stroll of Robson St., there's always Pacific Centre mall in the heart of downtown. You'll also find high-end department stores such as Nordstrom Rack and Holt Renfrew at the mall commonly known as "PC". I'd recommend skipping the food court there -- pricey and crowded. There's plenty of great eateries just above ground along Granville St ;)

A fantastic alternative transportation is our mini AquaBus serving all of False Creek! There's even a dock right in our very own David Lam Park in Yaletown just 5 minutes from our suite! Many locals just take the AquaBus to and from work everyday. Return trips are $5.50, every 15 min departing 7AM to 9:45PM. http://theaquabus.com/stop/david-lam-park/

I use this everyday, so I can definitely vouch for this. Canada Line is our newest SkyTrain line, in my opinion a valuable legacy of mass transportation infrastructure from the 2010 Winter Olympic games. A fast and economical way to explore the North-South corridor of Downtown and Vancouver City proper. To skip rush hour crowds, I think it's best to ride between 10am - 3pm. You'll need a Compass Card (buy at any station, or London Drugs store) -- the daypass is the best value for visitors.

I use this everyday, so I can definitely vouch for this. Right in our neighbourhood, David Lam Park is a nice open green space that's even pleasant during rainy days. It's right along the False Creek seawall, so it's unique on its own. Roundhouse Community Centre is right next to the park for more activities.
