Food Scene

This place is heaven and I'm hungry just thinking about it. Iranian Bombay street food with amazing decor and the best cheese toasties in the world. Gets crazy popular so avoid peak dinner times.

The baked goods at this popular restaurant are delicious. My cousin blames them for his weight gain so be warned :) They also have a delicious range of healthy Mediterranean, Middles Eastern inspired dishes and lots of vegetarian options.

Traditional fish & chips for tourist and hipster alike, they serve sustainably-caught fish so that's a big tick for them in my book.

Sundays only. This is where most Eastenders get their flowers every Sunday, go between 10am and 3pm. Gets busy so earlier is best. Many stalls offload their stock at 12.30-1pm as they want to finish up and go early so you can pick up trays of plants for just a few pounds. You'll find quirky shops around the edge of the market too, beautiful, traditional, english gift shops and galleries. Expect musicians singing and even string quartets. Walk around Ezra Street directly round the back and have a coffee and breakfast while watching a band play in the street.

London Fields – The Lido and Broadway Market London fields and Broadway Market is a top hipster hang out. Nonetheless, there are great restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Market day is Saturday. Go for a swim in the open air Lido! The London Fields Lido is a 50m Olympic size, heated outdoor swimming pool open all year round - a gorgeous spot for some exercise and people watching! Enjoy a walk along the canal to Victoria Park. Closeby to London Fields is the E5 Bakehouse - Some of the best sourdough bread, among many others, in London. Good cafe too and bread making courses.
