Absolutely stunning architecture from one end to the other of this UNESCO World Heritage boulevard. Enjoy walking from the city park end of the avenue with its spectacular neo-Renaissance mansions and and continue down through the city, enjoying the extraordinary townhouses and key architectural gems such as the Opera house designed by Miklós Ybl. There are plenty of fine cafes and restaurants to pause a little on your walk too.

The outside main bathing pools are great any time of the year and any time of the day. Enjoy the lounging in the summer sun or watching the steam rise on a cold crisp winter's night.

The building itself is stunning and there are so many different pools, saunas and steam rooms to choose from. The outside main bathing pools are great any time of the year and any time of the day. I enjoy running in city park nearly every day, but it has so much more than just that to offer. There's plenty of playgrounds for children and open park space for them to to enjoy. Not to mention duck feeding in the lakes! And if you fancy a drink or something to eat, there are good bars and restaurants to be found here too. A cluster of Budapest's key cultural venues such as Budapest zoo and circus, Széchenyi Thermal baths, the city's outdoor Winter ice rink (which doubles as a boating lake in the summer), Vajdahunyad Castle and the museum of Hungarian architecture are all here too.

Despite the upmarket location this venue has a very reasonably priced three-course set lunch menu. The lunchtime set menu is self-service but once you've got your food there's nothing stopping you taking it out to enjoy out on the terrace or if you'd prefer within the beautiful inner atrium of the neo-Renaissance building.

Our favorite food place on Liszt Ferenc tér. This restaurant is named after Hungarian socialist era canteens. Menza's interior design, with its contemporary twist on retro themes, similarly reflects a playful attitude to Hungary's culinary past. There's a great menu range of contemporary twists to traditional Hungarian dishes. Very reasonable lunch set-menu too. Friendly staff and a good mix of travellers and Budapest people make Menza a great choice for lunch or dinner. We've had good feedback from all our guests who went there. Try their delicious pumpkin soup in the autumn.

Getting Around
This is the nearest metro station to the apartment — just five-minutes walk away. The M1 metro is my favorite metro in Budapest. It was the first underground line to be built in continental Europe. It's famous for being the Millennium Metro, opened in 1896 for the 1000 year celebration of Magyar (Hungarian) occupation of this area. The metro is not only part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site but also a great transport link into the rest of the city centre.
