Food Scene

Everything is good, from the breakfast to the dinner specialties! If there is a restaurant that will satisfy your cravings, even if you are not very sure what you want, this might be it. This is probably the best bet for serious breakfast and brunch, and a great informal lunch place. The good thing is that they always serve food throughout the day.

It is perhaps the highest-end fine cuisine available in JP --and Ten Tables arrived even before JP was considered a location to be seen eating serious food. Beware, though it has been expanded barely above ten tables, it is almost as small. Reservations are a must. Check out Oyster Sundays --it beats going all the way to the North End.

Brassica is two things at once. Mornings and Lunch it is a neighborhood coffee shop with great pastries --the locally made donuts already have a following and are becoming legendary. At night, however, Brassica is a high-end restaurant with adventurous dishes and an emphasis on gourmet cooking --a bit pricey perhaps, but certainly an experience.

Sightseeing

There are several JP Licks in MA, but this is the original, where all started. Excellent place to stop by, check the JP vibe, and choose one of those legendary ice cream flavors. Rum Raisin is something to try, with plenty of kick!

Go to the Center of JP, @ Center St, and then walk towards the Pond, say via Pond St. A great walk, beautiful neighborhood, and a taste of bucolic JP in the middle of Boston.

OBERON is the second stage of the legendary American Repertoire Theatre --and it mixes the renowned quality of the main stage with the adventurous, daring aspects of a second stage that will likely challenge (and hopefully expand) your taste in theater.

The BSO is legendary not only because of the many great musicians that played, but also because it is a part of Boston. The BSO is great for the Fall and Winter --and the selection can be from the Boston Pops, to a tribute to John WIlliams where the orchestra plays the music live to one of his movies, to seriously fabulous music. The hall's acoustics are amongst the finest anywhere --though do make sure to avoid a seat behind a pillar. Check out the special tours (free) for an inside look.

Essentials

A small, organic, community focused coop, but in a modern, clean space. Wine and beer are also stocked. For Boston, that is a nice surprise.

Entertainment & Activities

The Samuel Adams Brewery tours are always a success! You can get to experience the brewing processes, sample the goods, and have a great time at this cool site. For six generations the Bostonian Kochs tried to do something else than beer, but fortunately in 1984 they gave up and the rest is microbrew history! If arriving early, the nearby Ula Cafe at 284 Armory St. is great for both breakfast and lunch --and then beer, of course, at the Brewery.
