Drinks & Nightlife

This is one of Chicago's first microbreweries and the best gastropub around! You'll find the craft beers brewed by Revolution have now become fairly available in Chicagoland at good bars and restaurants, and Revolution often offers unique choices.

While this is a whiskey bar, it is also one of the finest restaurants in the area. When Michelin came to rate Chicago, it was the first restaurant in Logan Square to be awarded a Michelin star--now there are quite a few in that category. There are no reservations, but there is both a bar and a waiting area where you can have a few snacks and drinks before being seated for a meal. The outdoor seating is on a quiet side street.

Parks & Nature

This is a beautiful old park with water, a field house, and tennis courts. Unfortunately, I do not recommend night whikes due to crime in the area, but it is a favorite place to walk in the daytime. The park is part of Chicago ring of boulevards with green space.

Getting Around with a Vehicle

Park your car (owned or rented) on the street with a daily residential permit sticker provided to guests. Or, use Uber, Lyft, or your favorite taxi service to get around to many spots on the north side, downtown, and all around Chicagoland.

About 3 blocks from the Guest House, this is the closest elevated train. The blue line L goes northwest to Ohare, southeast into the downtown Loop, and then out west to the Medical Center near University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and Rush Hospital and on to suburban Forest Park.

The Milwaukee bus 56 (NOT the Blue Line but right next to it) runs the the diagonal avenue frequently, paralleling the Blue train line through the neighborhoods of Logan Square, Wicker Park, Avondale and beyond. It is very convenient for short hops, and it goes downtown to Madison & State and the Civic Opera House as well as northwest to the Jefferson Park transit station (where other buses, the Metra, and the Blue Line all intersect).
