The long walking street Strøget is easy to reach with the bus or the metro. From the house you can take bus 33 to Rådhuspladsen (The City Square) and end your walk down Strøget at the metro at the other end.
Strøget is full of tourists, live music etc, and I prefer to stroll the smaller and less crowded streets on both sides.
