Østre Anlæg is established with paths and hilly terrain on Copenhagen's old ramparts. The garden is designed by H.A. Flindt, who also designed the Botanical Garden. In Østre Anlæg, the former defense facility is clearly visible with well-preserved lakes and bastions. The natural facility contains many wild herbs, perennials and grasses and a rich wildlife, especially in the lakes. Sculptures and monuments hide in the green corners of the garden. During the summer months, concerts and festivals are often held in the southwestern part of the garden between the Hirschsprung Collection and SMK.
