A reservoir on the Salt River, the short drive to Canyon Lake is beautiful and you can jump in the cool water once you are finally there. I have spent many days paddleboarding through the waters, particularly in the finger areas near Boulder parking lot

Gorgeous views at the lake and on the drive there. There is a dinner paddleboat cruise that's fun, or pack a lunch and sit on the beach. Look for Desert Bighorn Sheep up in the rocks! You will need a "Tonto Pass" to park here, which is about $10 and can be purchased at many gas stations, but not at the lake itself. You can Google and find a list of sellers.

A wonderful desert lake to enjoy kayaking or hiking. My recommendation is to book a ride on Dolly Steamboat.

Great place to paddle board, kayak or go hiking an beautiful 50 minute drive East.
