The exhibits consist in collections of sculpture, pottery, and architectural remains from the Neolithic to the Roman period on Thasos. The most important exhibit is the impressive archaic three-and-a-half-metre "Kouros", a statue of a young naked man carrying a goat (600 bc).

Το αρχαιολογικό μουσείο Θάσου κτίστηκε το 1935 ενώ ανακαινίστηκε και επεκτάθηκε κατά τα έτη 1989-1999. Σε μία έκθεση 2376 τ.μ. με 18 αίθουσες και 1700 αντικείμενα θα δείτε συλλογές από τον 7ο αιώνα πΧ έως τον 7ο αιώνα μΧ. Στο μουσείο λειτουργεί και υπόγειος χώρος με ερείπια της κλασικής και ρωμαϊκής περιόδου τα οποία είναι ορατά αλλά μη επισκέψιμα. Το μουσείο Θάσου είναι το σημαντικότερο στην ανατολική Μακεδονία και Θράκη. Εκτίθενται δείγματα αγγειοπλαστικής, γλυπτικής, νομίσματα, επιγραφές και αγάλματα. Από τα εκθέματα ξεχωρίζουν ο κούρος με 3.5 μέτρα ύψος, το άγαλμα του Ανδριανού, ο Πήγασος, κεφάλια ανδρών και γυναικών καθώς και ανάγλυφες παραστάσεις. The Archaeological Museum of Thassos was built in 1935 while it was renovated and expanded during the years 1989-1999. In an exhibition of 2376 sq.m. with 18 rooms and 1700 objects you will see collections from the 7th century BC to the 7th century AD. The museum also has an underground space with ruins of the classical and Roman period which are visible but inaccessible. The Thassos Museum is the most important in eastern Macedonia and Thrace. Samples of pottery, sculpture, coins, inscriptions and statues are on display. Among the exhibits stand out the kouros with 3.5 meters height, the statue of Andrian, Pegasus, heads of men and women as well as relief representations.
