The general store is one of the original building in Talkeetna. It's a must see. Stop in for their great coffee offerings and meet the Mayor of Talkeetna - Stumps the cat.

There is a sure way to tell if a place is a good one to eat in, for, in every town around the world, the locals know where to spend their time and enjoy the company of others. The West Rib Pub & Grill is the best place to meet colorful locals, guides, bush pilots, trappers, miners, and other people from around the world.

The West Rib is one of my favorite spots to sit down, grab a drink and chow down some food. It's nothing fancy, just a chill spot that used to have a cat mayor wandering around inside. This is where people generally head after climbing Denali, and you'll see why as you step in.

A historic stop as it is attached to Nagley's General Store. This is where we first met the Mayor of Talkeetna. Mayor Tubbs was sipping water from a wine glass. Sorry to say he has since passed away. Good burgers!!
