This trail is a "must do" for any hiker visiting this region! Gorgeous views, and interesting terrain makes this one of our favorites. Best to travel in a counter clockwise fashion, and be sure to pack appropriate foot wear. There is a large exposed granite slab that you will hike up, and this can be quite slick when it is raining or in the winter. Recommend the use of microspikes if hiking in the winter. 4.4 miles round trip.

Nearby, classic White Mountains hike with nice views. Beware that some parts of the Dickey trail are a bit like rock climbing. If you plan to do the entire loop starting from Dickey side is best. If you just want a short hike with views, go up the Welch side to the top of the ledges and return the way you came. These are some of the most hiked trails in the whites and can be VERY busy on the weekends, so it pays to start early.

This is the perfect moderate hike. Round trip (depending on your level) should take 3-4 hours. Very interactive and interesting hike with lots of diversity, thru woods and over lots of granite ledges. Gorgeous views from the top !

Moderate hiking trail with great views over much of the trail and lots of open rock face.
