Great grilled foods, lots of local charm!! Pottery on the walls is from a local artist and all is for sale. Owner has horses, so there are various equestrian articles around. Portions are HUGE. Arrive hungry. Take care when ordering. Ask your server. A half-serving can easily serve 3 people. Reservations highly recommended. Mandatory on weekends in July/September and any day in August. House specialties include a large platter of Mixed Grilled Meats, or Bacalhau (codfish) baked inside fresh homemade bread with beans and cabbage. Tip: if you plan to get this, maybe ask your server to remove bread basket when you arrive. Saves a few euros, since you will have plenty of bread with this dish.

If you want to experience the authentic Portuguese cuisine, we highly recommend you visit ‘Solar dos Amigos’! This is a fantastic restaurant just some 5Km away from Quinta da Mota, featuring mouth-watering charcoal grilled meat and fish dishes, with a rustic décor and wonderful atmosphere. Advance booking is a must, and take cash with you as they don’t accept card payment;

This is the place to go if you love meat! A bit far from Baleal, but the meat is amazing and affordable!
