Good closer to town hiking and nice trailhead. There is a little nature trail for kids and elderly to see some desert. For a little more adventure take the Gateway Loop Trail. 13.7 Miles

Best close by hiking. 4 mile loop with nice ascent about halfway. A little rocky for little kids though.

4.5 miles, McDowell Mountain Range (up the 101 freeway). An excellent and scenic loop that allows you to take in some fresh air. Great for a more relaxing hike/nature walk!
