Summer in Berlin usually means lots of sun and high temperatures. If you need to cool off then go to one of Berlin's many lakes. A great one is Weißer See where there is a beach as well as a beach bar area called Strandbad Weißensee. Easy access from Mitte; just jump on the Tram 12.

A nice place to go in the summer. A small lake were you can swimm, watch the sunset and a have a bear and small simple things to eat.

We use to go there for a cold beer at the terrace and have a cool bath and swimming in the lake. Beach costs some bugs, terrace entrance is free. Sun set and fire places in the summer are a must.
