The bothy has no mains water or electricity so is a real alternative experience, with separate flush toilet and washing facilities. We welcome up to 2 well-trained dogs, and with front & back gardens and being right next door to a vast park, our home is ideal for walks in the local area. For those wishing to venture into Edinburgh, Gorebridge train station is a mere 10 minute walk away, as well as having an unrestricted car park. A 20 minute train journey brings you into the heart of the city.

Eco loft overlooking garden and stream

This artist and architect-designed house is clad in larch and well insulated with wool felts. The access to the separate loft of our eco-house is via an external staircase. A large south facing window in the main room overlooks the woodland garden and Shiplaw burn. There is a workspace/single bedroom for an extra guest. We are located within one of the biggest habitat restoration projects in Europe and are five minutes walk from a regular bus service to Edinburgh and across the Borders.

Barleydean Suite is situated in a private annex in a country house. At the edge of the Pentland Hills, you can hike from your front door, wander to the local pub or take a bus to Edinburgh. The suite has private access for guests. It has 1 bedroom with a super king-size bed for 2 guests. Up to 2 foldaway single beds can be provided on request. Maximum occupancy is 4 people. There is a kitchenette suitable for light cooking, with hob, microwave, Nespresso, toaster, and washing machine.
