The place is very relaxing and peaceful. The journey there was quite a long one coming from Auckland on a raining day does not help. The house is very clean and spotless which is comforting. Even though there is no mobile coverage, there is a very good WiFi for me to beam projector to the wall for movies. It was a great experience overall.

What a beautiful spot! We loved being in such a peaceful location, just a short walk from being able to swim in the lake. Lovely's place had everything we need, including a nice outdoor area - perfect for storing bikes and drying swimming gear! Lovely was a dream to communicate with and went out of her way to make our stay great. We can't recommend staying here highly enough!

Ruru Lodge is a fabulous retreat in lush gardens, amazing views up the hill in Kinloch. We took over the whole family wing and found it extremely comfortable, warm and tastefully decorated. Our 'honeymoon' suite had its own bath and shower (in tub) and double sink with beautiful garden views, very comfortable bed and large space (my sister did yoga). We made the kost of the spa with a view to the bay in the distance. We woke up to the sound of native birds which was awesome! Renee is such a thoughtful and caring host - it's like going home to mum. Our breakfast was fresh and abundant: cereal, fruit yogurt, croisants or hot cross buns, juice, tea/coffee. On our last day Renee packed us delicious food for the road. We highly recommend Ruru Lodge and staying with its owners Renee and Ian

Peter's place is a rare find. Close to the hot spring, 30 min drive from Rotorua town centre. It is a working farm with horses, chicken etc. on site. It is such a special experience when you lift up your head in the room and see a horse staring at you through the window. We had great time there.

It is dog friendly and my dog definitely had fun time with Tess and Ria（if I remembered the name right）. Our stay was absolutely wonderful-clean, cozy, and full of charm. The farm setting made it a truly special experience. We were warmly greeted by a beautiful horse at the gate, and the sweetest puppy, Tess, always came to welcome us back after dinner. The hosts were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. It was a peaceful, heartwarming getaway-we would love to come back again!

Fabulous stay, Melissa and her family went the extra mile to welcome us and farewell us checking that we had enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was everything and more than what we expected. A real treat to have fresh milk and juice in the fridge as well as a grand breakfast selection and range of tea options. The location is idyllic, would highly recommend.

What a super place to overnight on our journey. The accommodation exceeded our expectations, comfy bed, lovely linen and Charlotte even provided beds and blankets for our doggies. This was so thoughtful and there were further thoughtful touches and gestures. Fabulous shower too. The fully fenced enclosed garden was wonderful for the dogs and peace of mind for us. Catherine was an amazing host. Extremely hospitable and always happy to answer questions or help if we needed anything. The place is amazing, with beautiful views and is a very peaceful days to relax for a few days. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Taupo region.

We had a fantastic stay at Maura’s cottage. The cottage itself was lovely and had everything you could think of. Our kids loved the books and toys, this was very thoughtful. The outside area was beautiful and we were able to make use of it with good weather. Maura was a responsive and lovely host. Highly recommend ☺️

Tammy was invaluable every step of the way. The house is warm, friendly, and super clean. The wood was ready in the fireplace, with a basket full next to it. The beds were excellent, and the kitchen was perfect. Highly recommended!

we had a wonderful stay. Felt right at home. would recommend for a relaxed stay wih stunning views to the mountains. unfortunately we missed it durle to the weather but was still worth it. wonderful host to have a healthy conversation.
