We had a wonderful time swimming, fishing off the dock (caught a nice sized large mouth bass & panfish) and boating. We enjoyed the paddle board, kayak and screened in porch. We used the fire pit one night before the mosquitoes came out. We didn’t use the hot tub. We rented a pontoon from Brett at Island View Resort. He also sold bait, gas and a map of the lake with tips for fishing the lake. We caught crappies, bass, panfish and northern. The bunkhouse was prefect for our two boys. Our daughter enjoyed the loft room. It was nice that there were 2 fans. The kitchen was well equipped and we liked having a large electric skillet. Didn’t use the washing machine except for washing the towels before we checked out. The beds were comfortable. We also liked the large dining room table -used it to play games in the evening. We’d definitely recommend getting peanut butter twists from Pattens restaurant in Orr. It was a very relaxing vacation. We’d definitely rent it again.

Beautiful space, everything was clean and worked great. Hot tub and sauna are great amenities. Very private. Aaron was responsive and is a great host!

The home was so comfy with thoughtful details to make each area of the home just perfect. We loved all the special decor touches. We went to relax and got that for sure. Deer coming into the yard while we were using the outdoor hot tub was an unexpected delight.

The photos don’t do this location justice! The accommodations were top notch, and Jeanne makes you feel like family! Worth every penny! Will be back again to show more friends and family this amazing place!

The property is as in the photos, very spacious in the inside. Right on the water, only a minute or two from downtown Ely, but worlds away from the City. Nice setting, plenty of room for all in your group. Multiple levels, built to enjoy being on the lake, so many nice touches, and the kitchen is well stocked, with plenty of glasses/plates and everything required to feel at home. Plenty of towels! Hot tub is in a private setting! Second floor is reached by open stairway, includes an open area overlooking first floor, that includes conversation area with futon, and large bedroom with great view of sunrise and attached bathroom with shower and large jetted tub. We were just two, and felt comfortably together, larger groups will not feel crowded, and two cars can park in the garage, and they provide two remote garage door openers, so you do not have to get out of your car to open or close the garage door. Truly is like having your own place in the woods, if you were a millionaire!

What a beautiful place!!!! Exactly like the pictures!! Very “up to date”, clean and comfortable! Even with minor issue we had with the super cool hot tub, David was very helpful and immediately responsive. We will definitely be going back!!! Enjoyed our stay very much!!!!

This cabin is a gem! Our family felt right at home and loved every minute spent here. We saw amazing signs of wildlife by day and enjoyed the cozy fireplace, sauna, and stunning night sky by night. Our hosts communicated clearly with us about getting to the cabin, but it’s worth mentioning that you might need AWD to get to the cabin in winter. If you want a picture-perfect, quiet spot to recharge, this is it. Book it and enjoy!

We stayed at the cabin for three nights while birding at Sax-Zim bog. It was really comfortable and plenty of space for the two of us and our dogs. We loved the bird feeders which attracted all kinds of winter birds, and the view from the patio is gorgeous! Only 20 minutes from the bog. Lots of space for the dogs to run around in the snow. Extra bathroom near the upstairs bed was very convenient. Kitchen was spacious and clean and the bed was really comfortable (and I’m picky about that!) Will definitely stay here again when visiting the bog! Recommend to anyone!

We had an amazing weekend and really enjoyed our stay. Years and years visiting Duluth, this weekend gave us an opportunity to see a different side of the city. Creekside hikes, wildlife through the enormous windows and a private back yard with a sauna are some of the highlights from our staycation. Even the record collection was perfect!

Great cabin — comfortable, clean, quiet. Well-appointed kitchen. Nicely decorated interior. Spacious rec room with a very large screen TV. Easy access to boat dock. Mike, the owner, was staying in another cabin close by, he was extremely helpful and friendly. The cabin itself is in the community of Crane Lake, on the water. It sits in a row of similar cabins. A small store (fisherman-oriented) and couple of bar/restaurants are nearby, easily walkable. We used this as a base for day trips (hiking and canoeing) into Voyageurs NP and the Boundary Waters. You can also walk to and hike the Vermillion Gorge Trail from the cabin — recommended.

Stayed here for a weekend ski trip to Giant’s Ridge ski resort with a couple buddies of mine. The cabin was accurate to the description and is tidy. A few ants roaming around upon arrival as expected with a cabin in the superior national forest. Otherwise clean place. Nice and warm, well heated. Has a wood burning stove more for ambiance. The running water had the classic up north lake water smell, but that is also to be expected. Terra was responsive and helpful. Nothing to complain about if you’re looking for a boundary waters cabin experience. I would definitely come back for a summer trip to fish and kayak.

If willing to make the drive away from all signs of civilization, whether it be for golfing, skiing, camping, roadtripping or otherwise, Jody’s place will always come out on top. The Bear Den Lodge exceeded all expectations, and had so many fun touches throughout the place in addition to its reliable amenities. My party made use of most offerings such as the screened hut, sauna, grill, large backyard, game room, washer/dryer, and the fancy bath tub! There were hardly any issues, the place was pristinely prepared, welcoming to guests and bears (only fake ones), and secluded. The only problem that occurred was a fire alarm being set off by the grilling we did. Due to the location of the grill, it may be more susceptible to triggering the fire alarm. To combat this, we opened a few windows in the front of the house (away from the grill), and turned on all fans and air control units (which were excellently reliable). In short, tremendous place, and I would certainly revisit!

Perfect place for a quiet, relaxing getaway. Well appointed kitchen with just the right equipment to be able to cook nice meals. Setting was beautiful, we really enjoyed watching the house birds and the changing weather on the water.

This house was the perfect hub for nature exploration in Koochiching and Superior National Forest! It was very clean, cozy and quite luxurious compared to other accommodations we’ve stayed at in the area, but still reasonably priced for 3 bedrooms. Appreciated the host being quick to respond and flexible with our dates.

Clean, homey, private and beautiful surroundings. We appreciate that the hosts and the home are super kid friendly as well as dog friendly. Kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals for the whole family. The hosts are very prompt at responding and took extra time adding a couple sweet little touches that were personalized to us. We will be back to stay at this home in the future!

Staying here was so peaceful - like stepping into another world where time stood still! My husband and I were amazed at how different the Lakes were for being separated only a small channel at the north side of the cabin. Sunrise over 1 lake was met at Sunset over the other - spectacular! The fire pit was incredible and at night the lakes are as smooth as glass! The outdoor shower was fantastic and there were so many things to do outside from the sauna, canoe, kayak, peddle boat and floaties to all the games and books inside the cabin. Kim was incredibly responsive and we can't wait to go back!

very peaceful get away from the pressures of daily living for our daughter who has a stressful management job. I was the perfect place to enjoy the lake by the fire pit enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Nothing but amazing. Plenty of sheets, towels, etc. Pots and pans along with solverware, and cooking utensils were in great shape. Bonus was the wood stove. Plan to come back again!

The cabin is exquisitely appointed and pristine. The treehouse did not disappoint. Every detail was clearly carefully considered throughout and we felt right at home from the moment we drove up. All the fine details compelled us to actually research some of the furniture and go so far as to order the identical table as soon as we got home. What a delightfully fun, and somehow also relaxing, place to stay. Our only regret is not staying longer. We will be back!

Such a beautiful lake cabin with so many amenities! Love taking my coffee outdoors by the swing while watching the sunrise, listening to the chirping birds and sound of the water. I saw a woodpecker too! End the day having bonfires as well. Mesmerized just sitting on the couch looking at the panoramic view. So much cheaper than staying in Duluth where we planned most of our vacation and come home to this lake cabin. Enjoyed the patio from above where you can see more of the view of the lake. If only we knew how to kayak and use the boat. My cousin who came to visit truly enjoyed his stay! Host Robyn is ready to answer any question. Place is so clean, simple, organized and equipped. You won’t regret staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at Michael's lakeside retreat. The photos represented it well and we were especially pleased with the detailed directions for the route off the highway. The fireplace was a treat. Our only struggle was remembering which switches controlled which lights… even though many of them were labeled, we still had to guess/remember several times. The heaters in each room were effective and the kitchen was well-stocked. We certainly recommend Michael's North Bay Getaway.

Dans place was exactly what we needed for our event we attended. A very quiet stay .

Landy's place was a quaint, and rustic cabin in the gorgeous and pristine setting of the Northwoods. We loved waking up to the fog rising from the Lake, and having our morning coffee by the water. Described as expected, with no electricity or running water we packed as if we were tent camping and we felt prepared for our stay. Our family stayed up late by the light of kerosene lamps playing cards. It was a great bonding experience and a welcome get away from wifi and technology. The boat rental was a plus, and locals were very friendly and welcoming to us.
