We had a 3 night stay as 2 families with small children. House was great, big space, great outdoor areas. The venue is clearly geared towards large parties, stag or hen perhaps which it is perfect for. For us as a young family it was a great base to use whilst exploring nearby York. Plenty to keep children entertained at the house. A great stay for our getaway

It's a lovely house with terrific views and entertainingly high-end decor - it felt like a real treat staying there. A really well-equipped kitchen, several terraces to sit on for drinks or tea to make the most of the views and sunshine, comfortable bedrooms and room for the kids to watch TV while the adults relaxed in peace. We loved the horses grazing in the front paddock and being able to walk down to the pub and we really enjoyed getting to know this bit of Yorkshire, with the drama of Sutton Bank and the charm of Thirsk.

This was a wonderful setting for a family Christmas and we were made very welcome by the hosts. Lovely location with great walks nearby for our two dogs and a pub at the end of the drive!

What a little gem this cottage is. The location is fab, and walkable to pubs and the beach. The cottage has a huge enclosed garden with a lovely decked area with seating and a trampoline which the kids loved. There was a lovely welcome hamper upon our arrival which went down a treat with all of us. Jane has thought of everything, the kitchen is really well equipped, logs for the log burner, magazines and games. And stuff for the dog too. Loads to do around the area, so the location is perfect. Don’t hesitate to book this place you won’t regret it!

The cottage is very spacious and welcoming. It exceeded expectations in every way. Julie was a great host and provided a very well chosen generous welcome pack . She struck the perfect balance of being helpful and yet leaving you to it. Highly recommended.

Thank you for another excellent stay. This time we got to benefit from the coastal walks and open space straight out the back gate. Julie was a great help when my lad accidentally set off the house alarm. Within 15 minutes the alarm stopped and our day was saved as we had tickets booked! Brilliant hosting and was attentive that all our expectations were met through the break. Highly recommended and will come again if Julie will have us 🙂

Wonderful home and extremely responsive and helpful host - the joining information was incredible - your ecologists loved the house and felt right at home. Will def use if we are up there again. Thanks Andrew

We spent Easter weekend here and loved our stay. It is a massive space and we were able to spread out and enjoy all sitting on the same sofa! The cottage was clean and welcoming, but there were some areas that needed a slightly deeper clean (bottom of shower screen and dusting in some areas and bags of ice in freezer from previous guests) however this didn't affect our stay at all. Parking was easy and the location was great to visit York, Piglets Adventure Fark and Woldies. All great family days out. The garden is also perfect for kids to run round as it was enclosed and spacious. We didn't get to use the fire pit as the weather wasn't warm enough too but it is a great spot to sit outside and enjoy the peace! Hosts were very responsive and resolved a very minor issue very quickly . Our only improvement point would be to provide the basics of coffee and sugar in the kitchen. We had brought our own but you come to expect these basics in the kitchen these days.

the flat was exactly like the photos. very clean and full of equipment. easy to station and city center. Gabrielle is very helpful.

A unique and atmospheric place to stay with a very welcoming and friendly host. Loved the sculpture park and art galleries. Easy walking distance to Thirsk market place with all this great Yorkshire town has to offer.

Fantastic host! We stayed a month and had everything we needed. Appreciated having a washer and dryer! The home was very quiet. Perfectly located near the old town, university and cathedral. Steeped in history. We would recommend this home to anyone visiting Durham!

Great apartment in centre of Whitby and less than 5 minutes to the beach. It was immaculate and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

A very comfortable place to stay with a huge TV in the lounge, comfy bed, great shower and nice helpful touches - milk and biscuits are always appreciated. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in a great dispenser in the shower and easy parking on the property. After saying I wanted to go for a walk, Mark helpfully gave me directions to the local reservoir that can be walked around. There is a nice pub opposite this road (a very short walk, just around the corner) and various other places a short drive or longish walk away. I wanted a good walk so for me, walking to the local pizza and separate fish and chip shop was good. I’d forgotten that in this part of the world fish is often fried in beef dripping, delicious! After my walk back to Mark’s place it was nice to have a cup of tea and a couple of sweet biscuits. Mark’s place is in an interesting old building which has been painted and finished inside to a very high standard. Comfortable and perfect for my needs.

Great stay. Lovey peaceful flat with views of fields and farm. Everything you need is there. Host Sue was incredibly helpful and flexible.

We had a wonderful girly weekend which was made by a wonderful place to stay. Absolutely had a fab time, Debbie offered lots of amenities and it had such a homey, hidden away, cosy feel to the place even though it was close to the centre and lots to do. We would definitely say again.

We had a lovely stay at Water Hall Farm, and enjoyed the wood fired hot tub and fire pit - we were even able to grill our dinner over the fire pit! The view is overlooking a lovely cow field, and the area was very quiet and peaceful. The only complaint we have it it would have been nice to have some complimentary tea and coffee packets out to use.

Sandra's place was perfect for our short stay in Yorkshire. We particularly enjoyed the outside space and seeing the ducks.

Amazing break away. Peaceful setting, stunning views. A great place to switch off and relax. Nick was a great host from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend the breakfast box.

We've just returned from a short stay at my happy hounds. Our glamping pod Hugo was absolutely perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed and was absolutely spotless considering these are dog friendly. The welcome pack was also a nice touch with all quality items. We have 2 dogs one that is very nervous, he settled in well as it was peaceful and private and having ample space for them to run and play at the pod and the secure dog fields, these are a great facility for anyone traveling with a dog. It's only a short drive to find local amenities and finding my happy hounds was easy with Google maps being accurate. The communication from Harry was excellent with plenty of information and help if needed. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and have already started talking of booking again for the future. What a beautiful cabin and surroundings! It exceeded our expectations. Beautifully surrounded by trees and the flowing stream. Lighting up the fire before going to bed, waking up to the birds chirping or taking a shower outside was amazing. As advertised, there is no network in the cabin - we were very happy to take a break from our phones (but for those who can’t help it, there is 4G just up the hill). We used the kitchen for breakfast- it had all the essentials. We managed without a car by booking a cab from Thirsk station. You can walk to Helmsley on a very beautiful path to restock if you have to (c.1h30 one way). Bring warm clothes although there are some blankets / warm bottles in the cottage which we appreciated. You can purchase additional logs on the property (if you do not have a car like us). Katy and Scott were very responsive and amenable which we appreciated. Absolutely recommend.

Peter's place was spotless! he is an awesome host and even helped us set up a barbecue. the place is exactly as advertised and we loved the vibes!

Cosy, great views, lovely time away with the dog. Faye was lovely & her responses were very quick. Log burning hot tub ready for our arrival! Less than 15 mins to drive to Hemsley, which has great walks. We will definitely be back.

Lovely quiet and peaceful place to spend a spring weekend. Cosy and well equipped. Small but spotlessly clean. Really enjoyed sitting out on the swing seat listening to the birds and the river and hearing nothing else. Lovely walk into Whitby over the fields and back on the cinder track. Perfect.
