Hands down the best place we have stayed in over our month we spent in Sri Lanka. Sadly, we stayed only one night but will gladly recommend this place for longer stays! The place is amazing, with quiet surroundings, immersed in jungle. Room is equipped with everything you need, and sparkling clean. The staff is very kind, attentive, and always helpful. The host himself cared for us very much, and is a true expert in running a hospitality business. Highly recommended!

The airbnb is built in old colonial style and situated in the heart of the town which is perfect for your stay in Nuwara Eliya. The staff is friendly and provided us with a breakfast to go when we wanted to go for an early hike in the morning. The room was very big and had two comfortable beds to sleep in. With good weather you can make use of the garden.

My wife and I were so pleased by Kandy Cabana. The staff are so warm and accommodating, we felt like we gained friends when we stayed with them. They made us a warm breakfast every morning and helped prepare us for each day. And the Cabanas and landscaping are so relaxing and beautiful. It’s right by a river and you can hear its calm flow all night. This is the best way to see the Kandy countryside.

Wir hatten eine Nacht in der Unterkunft gebucht und die Begrüßung war super lieb und freundlich. Wir wurden mit einem leckeren Bananen Smoothie empfangen. Man muss jedoch genau auf seiner Karten App schauen. Es kann passieren das man über Googl-Maps hinter das Haus geleitet wird. Jedoch muss man am besten einfach auf der Hauptstraße bleiben und dann findet man es schnell.

Heerlijk verblijf in de natuur. 25 minuten van Kandy, dus dichtbij de stad, maar wel lekker middenin de rust. Een aanrader!

My stay at Gileemale Walawwa was an experience that will not soon be forgotten. The hospitality that Ishantha and his amazing staff provide is on par with the Royal treatment that this property’s long history is known for. From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out, our comfort and wellbeing seemed to be the number one priority. Given the property’s rich history of over 300 years it felt like a time capsule full of charm and personality of the past, while at the same time providing more than enough modern amenities for our comfort. Away from any and all societal chaos, Ishantha’s property is a true hidden gem while still being close enough to the town of Ratnapura for anything more you could need. The attention to detail in regard to the guest experience here is unmatched and I would love to return one day. Thank you Ishantha!

Beautiful house in a beautiful surrounding. There’s two nice gardens to relax as well. The room is clean tidy and well done with amenities working properly. Best part of the stay was the host, Mr Jagath, who’s a kind and friendly man , always helped us with our requests and was warm. 10/10 stay. would recommend .

Beautifully designed place, great view, its the closest location to the entrance of Sinharaja Forest reserve. The guides were friendly and skillful in spotting creatures, the pool was a great solution for chilling after treks. The logistics of the area might cause delays in service, but Prasat and the friendly staff try full heartedly to compensate. Advise to travellers, u should put ur shoes inside ur rooms at night, as stray dogs might damage them. It's out of the control of staff. Also Dogs may cause baby monkeys to panic and fall off trees, so discouraging them from accompanying you into the forest is better.

Gepflegtes Haus. Interieur kommt sehr stylisch und modern daher. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Direkt am Wald und an einem wunderschönen Fluss gelegen. Die Affen in den Bäumen sorgen am Morgen früh für gute Unterhaltung. Ca 20 min vom Zentrum Kandy entfernt. Sri Lankan Style Frühstück war sehr lecker. Auf das englische kann gut verzichtet werden (Frühstück wird extra verrechnet).

We had a great time at the campsite. Arrived on the bus around 9 and Kosala picked us up and brought us to the site. 450Rs for delicious fried rice when we arrived. Raised tent has 2 mattresses, pillows, a sheet, mosquito net, and electric fan with extra outlet if you need to charge phone. We brought our own towel but some might be available upon request. Complimentary Sri Lankan buffet for breakfast followed by the rafting. Complimentary tuk tuk pick up and drop off. We were on the water for about an hour total and got to spend some of it swimming in the river. Class 2/3 rapids so great for kids or first time rafters. Great time!

Amazing place to stay! So clean and luxurious. You get a private balcony overlooking a beautiful creek and it’s such a cozy room. They are also great hosts and very attentive and helpful. They even agreed to hold our luggage while we are off hiking. We have not been able to try the food yet but it is very reasonably priced. Only negative is the wifi does not work great. Will be back again soon!
