The surrounding area is wonderful and quiet, you feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere, but are actually only minutes from the coast. The food is average priced but worth it. The waiters can't do enough for you. Very special place. The food is European/Mediterranean.

Castellar Zoo started off as an animal sanctuary and is now a zoo. All the animals have been rescued from other zoos and circuses. Castellar encourages children to interact with the animals. There are set times when you can stroke a baby tiger or feed lemurs by hand. A brilliant day out. There is a restaurant but we prefer to take a picnic.

A stunning little village worth the drive from Marbella, in-fact one should dedicate a day to do the "trail of white villages". Beautiful architecture and landscape. This place is beautiful! The bridge is amazing, the shopping street is great. Make sure you visit Ronda's Bullfight arena, the oldest one in Spain!
