Hatoyama Hall (鳩山会館 Hatoyama Kaikan), also known as the Otowa Palace (音羽御殿 Otowa Goten), is a Western-style residence in Bunkyō, Tokyo commissioned in 1924 by Iichirō Hatoyama, and it was here that he helped form the present Liberal Democratic Party. The house and gardens are in the process of evolving into a museum commemorating the Hatoyama family's contributions to politics and education in Japan.
The building's architect was Okada Shin'ichi, who also designed the Kabuki-za. The facade is composed of three bays in natural stone, with large French windows on the ground floor. On the first floor, the windows and doors fill the entire width of the building; the doors open inwards and there are narrow, French-style balconies.
There are currently three memorial rooms open to the public, one dedicated to Ichiro, another to his wife Kaoru, and yet another to their son, Iichiro Hatoyama. In addition, the garden features sculptures of Kazuo Hatoyama and his wife, Haruko

Rikugi-en has been counted as one of two excellent gardens of the Edo period together with Koishikawa Koraku-en. The garden was built by Mr. Yoshiyasu Yanagisawa, a famous favorite of the fifth Shogun Tunayoshi Tokugawa , as his villa in 1702. This garden is a typical Daimyo garden called a Kaiyuu pond garden with hills and ponds. Because the land had been on a corner of the flat Musashino, he dug a pond and made hills. The name, Rikugi-en, came from "six elements of Waka poems" that had been derived from "six styles of poems" written in the old Chinese poetry book "Mao-shi". In this garden, a big pond with some islands is surrounded by trees and offering imitations of famous Japanese beautiful spots such as Wakanoura in Kishuu(Wakayama Prefecture). Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Chinzan-so and the Japanese garden surrounding it—Chinzan-so, built in the heights of Mejiro some 130 years ago—will merge in January 2013 under the new name Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo.
While in the heart of the city, the meticulously groomed garden as large as about 66,000 square meters comprises a forest representing the beauty of Japan’s four seasons. On top of lush nature, the garden also features relics including a three-story pagoda rare in Tokyo and believed to date back to the early Muromachi period (1336–1573).
