A quirky town just northeast of Phoenix, Cave Creek is an Old West style town where it's just as common to see horseback riders trotting along Main Street as it is to see a motorcycle cruising by. It's got that small town charm where locals are friendly and excited to share their town with visitors!

Food scene

The original Buffalo Chip building was only 800 square feet on about 2/3rds of an acre. Today it has grown to encompass 5 acres and over 6,000 square feet and has become one of the most authentic dance halls and saloons in the country. The New Times voted The Buffalo Chip “Best of Phoenix” for 3 years. True West awarded this establishment “Best Western Saloon” 2 years in a row and Phoenix Magazine has voted it “Best of the Valley” for 2 years. There is something for everyone at The Chip. If you like to dance you can spin your partner to the toe tappin’ sounds of Pick o’ the Litter. Wednesday and Friday night’s Live Bull Riding, and Friday night’s All You Can Eat Fish Fry is a huge draw for the entire family.

Sightseeing

The Spur Cross Trail starts with big-sky vistas full of saguaros and purple mountains and then funnels into narrow trails along Cottonwood and Cave creeks, two ephemeral streams full of sycamores and mesquites. They run wild in spring, ebb down to trickles by May and then dry up altogether until the next winter.
