Super cool and hip neighborhood coffee joint in the heart of the Melrose District. Come on, it's set in an old timey gas station... how can you go wrong?! Amazing people work here and will take good care of you. There's nice indoor seating to chill, a small but cute outdoor patio, plus an efficient drive thru if you're wanting that coffee to go. Even if not into gluten free bakery items, give them a try (although they have other options too)! The gf blueberry muffins are super tasty!

Unique little place to grab, um, raw cookie dough! Sounds weird, tastes good! They also have ice cream and other sweets too. I recommend getting a WARM chocolate chip cookie with whatever you order... YUM.

When friends come to town, we end up here! Located in the middle of Downtown Phoenix, Hanny's is a timelessly hip place for food and drink that never disappoints. Hanny's is set in what used to be the Hanny's Department store that opened in 1947 and closed in 1986. The current restaurant version of Hanny's has operated since the mid-2000s but it still has that mid-century charm but with a fresh vibe. The carne pizza is my favorite thing on the menu, but I recommend starting with the "bar plate" as a little appy. You can't leave without checking out 3 things: the downstairs creepiness (you'll see why), the upstairs bathrooms (set in what used to be the dressing rooms), and the glass-bottom elevator shaft!

They do a great little brunch menu too. I recommend the chilaquiles for brunch, but the sopes and taco sampler on the "to share" menu are fricking amazing.

The crowd here is always ready to have a good time, so if it's busy, you'll hear nonstop laughter that fills the restaurant. Hard to not have a good time with all that fun!
