You probably heard of museum island, regardless if you're into museums or not, it's a nice place to discover nice sightseeing points. The best one in our opinion is the bridge at the Bode Museum where the Museum island "starts". Locals often meet there for a sundowner or to enjoy a more quiet moment in a very pretty surrounding.

Looking for a day trip somewhere out of town? Potsdam is definitely a great pick. It features the Sansouci castle, a cute historic town center as well as historic richer neighborhoods. It is easily reachable by train with the RE1 usually departing every 30 min from Alexanderplatz.
